Book II follows the point at which neither civilization can contain the damage created by its own war. Fire moves through oxygen-rich canopy, vertical transportation breaks down, biological infrastructure fails, and displaced populations cross boundaries that military doctrine had treated as permanent.

Development focus

The story shifts from first collision to consequence. Rescue crews, engineers, medical teams, and local communities cooperate before central authorities are prepared to admit dependence. The strongest scenes should show advanced avian and arthropod technology operating under pressure while making clear that sophisticated tools do not automatically produce political wisdom.
