Dark City: Homecoming
John Murdoch returns to a physically failing city where incomplete memories, divided survivors, and evidence that the Strangers may not be gone force a deeper question: is home the place they escaped from, the Earth they barely remember, or the society they choose to build together?
Visual Development
Visual lock: preserve 1940s/noir architecture, period cars, rain-wet streets, the great clock/tuning machinery, the Strangers and their parasite-host identity, and the artificial city’s ocean/shoreline. No flying cars and no generic cyberpunk skyline.
The approved Phase 2.3 direction keeps the visual language cold, nocturnal, architectural, and psychologically unstable: rain-black towers, impossible street geometry, artificial light, the looming presence of the Strangers, circular machinery, and a solitary human figure confronting a city that may still be thinking about him.

Deployment Rules
- Use WebP for deployed raster art.
- Preserve source aspect ratio; crop intentionally, never squeeze.
- Keep navigation, disclosures, titles, and body copy as live HTML text.
- Generated art is visual development, not an independent continuity authority.
Approved master: the Phase 2.3 Dark City rendering is the controlling visual direction for this property until deliberately superseded.
